How to find the inspiration for your stories.
Many people wonder where the source of inspiration come from that propels them to write their stories.
I call it creative alchemy, finding and writing ‘life’ stories you were meant to tell. Often time our stories come from aspects of our lives or things about which we feel passionate that get changed and transformed into our stories. Sometime the story could be about a person, or a place you visited, some hidden part of yourself, a memory, or even as someone once shared with me, something that was going to happen in the future.
In order to help uncover the stories you are being called to tell, it helps to identify something that grips your attention or fascination. From their the creative process starts when you begin to do some research and perhaps even interview people who have some knowledge about the subject.
From there you start to turn to the craft of how to write a story.
Asking questions can start the creative process going. What we find is that when we turn material from our personal world into a story, it can become a healing fiction.
Once you have your idea, you have to create a powerful opening to grab the reader’s attention. You can read more about that here.
