What’s my story? To be creative again…
The reason I do this work is because I believe writing and story is a way to RIGHT your life. It is a way to help access your imagination and become creative again. Writing is like alchemy, by writing you can change not only yourself, but also make an impact and affect those who read what you write. Writing can be a way back to life, a way that we come to know ourselves and make sense or meaning of life. We are all born creative, but most of us lose it, my work is to help you re-find and make “it” work for you.
I believe people need a CREATIVITY RE-BOOT and a way to OVERCOME BLOCKS? This is not just for someone who wants to write. This is a way to re-learn how to partner with the Imagination, the creative unconscious… the Magician within and bring forward what you want. Perhaps you are a writer and have experienced the roller coaster that is part of the creative process and could use some help navigating it. Maybe you would like to learn how to write from a deeper place, stories you were meant to write that really resonate with people. Maybe you feel like something is holding you back- that you think you can’t write or aren’t expressing your unique talents in an inspired, powerful and energized way or maybe you are in need of healing… or maybe you feel stuck and unfulfilled.
Then you are like most people and need to learn how to access the true Imagination (creative unconscious) you partner in every truly creative experience. This is my passion. CREATIVITY is about far more than just generating new ideas. It’s a journey that begins with awakening and activating your Imagination. That idea that you are somehow NOT creative is the source of the problem for so many people. Creativity can be used to solve any problem and turn a problem into a solution. When you think as most people do that creativity is only for other people – artists, musicians or rebels – you hold yourself back. YOUR creative genius is there waiting to be awakened.
The good news is that you can undo this unhelpful programming. So much of modern culture deadens our creativity.Stories are and always have been food for the soul. Joseph Campbell known for his work on the Hero’s Journey, a model often used to help structure story talked about “CURSE OF MODERN SOCIETY, the ennui that people feel, the alienation of people from the world order around them.” That is why I believe people are drawn to stories and to creative efforts; it has the capacity to express what people know inside to be true, to help us make meaning even if it eludes one in their ordinary lives.
After years of teaching creative visualization, meditation and helping people to change habits that were unhealthy and based on the research I did for my doctoral dissertation I put together a way for you to re-learn how to connect with your Imagination and write creatively. I believe we are all storytellers in one way or another, and that writing and telling our stories can be healing not only for the storyteller but for the one who reads the story.
If only we knew how to tap into the wealth of our creative potential… the Imagination. What I found was that writing can be an alchemical journey… a potentially transformative experience and a way to bring into being who we are. This is a creative journey that will help you re-connect with your power so you can write which- what I call the manifestation stage of creativity- which is to make clear or evident to the eye or the understanding that which you see can inside.
Reconnecting with Imagination is one of the most important things you can do in life. In some ways it requires learning how to be like a child again, to play and dream. Would like to meet your muse? Then standby as my new program is about to be released to help you unlock your imagination. Get ready to go on a journey. Each journey includes a guided visualization that activates your imagination, exercises that will teach you how to apply what you experience that teach you the story creating skills to make it fun and transformative both for the story and for you. This may be true but it doesn’t have to be you…“I think it’s fairly common for writers to be afflicted with two simultaneous yet contradictory delusions, the burning certainty that we’re unique geniuses and the constant fear that we’re witless frauds who are speeding toward epic failure.” —Scott Lynch
